I finished my last wedding cake of 2010 this past weekend and it felt good. To think a year ago I was contemplating and stressing over moving my business from Collingwood to the general Toronto area. I knew my ambitions had outgrown the small tourist town I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart. I feel very lucky to have been able to begin my business from the comfort and support of a small town and then be able to grow in a the city of Toronto filled with even more possibilities for me.
Now that 2010 is near it’s end, I’m getting excited for 2011 even more. With out giving to much away (yes I like a little element of surprise to when I blog), I will be combining my love of traveling and designing cakes with a few international orders and also pushing my designs skill more. Let’s just say that over the next year I’ll have a lot more to share.
Back on topic. It made my day to find out Brides Magazine picked one my designs as one of the best 10 cakes of 2010. As they explain,”Of the hundreds of wedding cakes we saw this year, these exceptional designs impressed us with their bright colors, unexpected shapes, and whimsical details. ” This kinda puts the frosting on the end of 2010 for me.
