Royal Inspired Wedding Cake Design

So I know I’m guilty of not blogging as regularly lately but I have been busy working on lots of exciting projects that I’ll be able to reveal in time. I also have been doing more teaching at the Bonnie Gordon Cake College and also some travel private classes with New York being the most recent with a very talented student who flew in from Turkey. I still get surprised every time when requested to travel either for a custom cake design or teaching a fellow cake enthusiast, but I’m more then happy to when my schedule allows me too and hope to continue spreading the couture cake love globally.

As mentioned in the previous post, back in January I was asked to collaborate with a talented wedding  team to create our predictions on the royal wedding. I wanted the “Kate Middleton” to have a touch of traditional elements but stylized to suit a trend setter like herself. I noticed with her personal style she wore beautiful print and elaborate hats. Instead of doing cascading spring flowers to the cake, I did an assortment of fabric ruffles, edible dollies, pearls, black lace and royal gold accents to the design. It will be interesting to see what the couple’s wedding cake looks like. I’m sure we’ll be all watching.
