I think one of the biggest misconception with making a haute couture cake, is that you need to replicate is right down the shape. Personally I love the shape of cake and it’s stacked cake forms and rather design dressing the structure of a wedding cake. I’m not really big on the doing the obvious in a sculpted novelty sense: headless mannequin shape cake. I like using the couture inspiration and mix and match it with other elements and in this case, flowers. In the end you get a well dressed cake suited for the elegant affair.
Here’s a peak of the lovely Sanaa and Fidan’s wedding cake. The dressings of the cake were inspired by her swoon worthy gown: Amsale Dahlia. The pleated organic texture of this gown is just so beautiful we had to capture it into her cake paired with purple flowers. We also designed a full on sweet table for her wedding (going in the cake vault for now, but I will share in time.)
